The annual Memorial Day parade will be held on Monday, May 25 starting at noon at the corner of 6th Ave and Main and end at First Citizens Bank. Following the parade there will be a ceremony at the Lake View Cemetery.  Participation is open to all veterans.  For more information call 847-331-5518.

FLATHEAD LAKE ROCK SKIPPING CHAMPIONSHIP

The 2015 Flathead Lake Rock Skipping Championship will crown a Montana State Rock Skipping Record Holder on May 30th at the Riverside Park Dock in Polson. This first of its kind event (in Montana) will find locals and visitors pitted against each other and more importantly, physics. Make no mistake, this isn’t an event of brute force; rather the Flathead Lake Rock Skipping Championship is an event that showcases finesse, touch and fun! Bring Your Own Rocks (B.Y.O.R.) to this family focused event and bound on down to Polson for skipping and laughs. Registration begins Saturday May 30th at 9:00 AM at Cove Deli & Pizza. Registration costs $10 each or $30 for the whole family! There will be two categories per gender; 12 and Under, and 13 and Up. The Flathead Lake Rock Skipping Championship begins at 10:00 AM and finishes around at 11:00 AM when awards are given and the State Record is bestowed. Then its up to the Cove Deli & Pizza where all participants receive free pizza. BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP
Partners in Home Care and Providence St. Joseph medical center in Polson are hosting a bereavement support group. This six week series is for adults grieving the death of a loved one. It is recommended that participants wait at least 2 months after a death before attending a group. This group is few and open to the public Wednesdays, June 10-July 15 from 4:30-6pm at the Owens Conference Room at St. Joseph Medical Center. Registration is required by June 5th. The Flathead Lakers present the 1st Annual Poker Paddle to be held Sunday, July 12, 2015 on King's Point. Cost is $50 for the first hand (includes meal and raffle ticket plus registration good bag), up to 2 additional hands for $30 each. The 23rd annual Flathead Lake 3-on-3 tournament will be on Main Street in Polson on July 24, 25 and 26th with 300 teams. POLSON TRIATHLON
The 4th annual Polson Triathlon will be held on Saturday, August 15 at Riverside Park.  Race starts at 8:40AM. Sign up by April 30 and receive the bargain early entry price of only $60.  Field will be capped at 200 racers, so don't wait too long. August 20, 21 and 22. Indian National Finals Tour Rodeo, sponsored by the KwaTaqNuk Resort and Casino and the CSKT Tribes. Begins at 7PM each night with live music after the rodeo each night. Chapter 1122 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will be hosting the 17th Annual Polson Fly-In at the Polson Airport on Saturday, September 12th and admission is FREE!  The public is invited to join pilots for an exciting day of aviation activities, beginning with a pancake breakfast at 8AM.
