The Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes will be sponsoring the 2014 Spring Mack Days on Flathead Lake with up to $150,000 in cash and prizes.  It will run March 14th thru May 18th on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with May 9th thru May 18th being ten consecutive fishing days.  A fish fry for participants and their families will be held May 18 at 3PM at Blue Bay with the award ceremony at 4PM.  For more information call 406-883-2888 Ex 7294.

"STEPPING ON" WORKSHOP
St Joseph Medical Center is holding "Stepping On", a falls prevention program.  This class meets for 2 hours a week for seven weeks starting Tuesday, April 15.  It aims to reduce the more than 1/3 of adults 65 or older who fall each year. This course has been shown to reduce fall risk by up to 30 percent. Cost is $30 for seven week class. To register or to get more information call Stephanie at (406) 883-8453.

EAA CHAPTER 1122 MEETING
The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1122 in Polson will hold the April meeting at 6:30PM on Wednesday, April 23 at the Polson airport.  This meeting is a planned potluck social and open to anyone interested in aviation.   Everyone is asked to bring a side dish, salad or dessert, burgers will be provided by the chapter.  The guest speaker will be Keith Urbach on "Supporting Air Force One".  Hope to see you there.

CASA GOLF SCRAMBLE
The 9th Annual CASA of Lake County Golf Scramble, hosted by Mick Holien will be held Saturday,  April 26 at Polson Bay Golf Course. Registration and breakfast at 8AM with a 10AM shotgun start. This is an 18 hole four person scramble. Entry fee $260 per team or $60 for individual.  Proceeds go directly to CASA of Lake Country. CLEAN UP! GREEN UP!
The Beautification Committee of Envision Polson! is planning the annual community wide clean up on Friday, May 2 from 9AM-5PM.  This year they hope to make it more "user friendly" and this is a community effort.  As you all know, the first step to having a beautiful, welcoming community is to have it trash free.  Headquarters will be located at the North Lake County Public Library to pick up trash bags, gloves & assignment areas for clean up.  Sign up for 4 great raffle drawing prizes! Following clean up there will be a no host gathering at Glacier Brewing Company at 5PM.

RED WINE AND CHOCOLATE
Stop by the Mission Mountain Winery on Saturday, May 3 from 10AM-5PM for their annual Red Wine and Chocolate event. This is a chance for visitors to learn about the food and wine pairings of various chocolate delights and their corresponding red wines. This free annual event is a part of the winery's continuing program to educate the community about the pleasurable synergies created by the pairing of food and wine. BIG PRODUCTIONS OFF-SERIES CONCERT
Big Productions, is going A Cappella in May.  The Montana A Cappella Society will perform on Saturday, May 3 at the Ronan Performing Arts Center and will include a relaxing evening of music, featuring songs from the 1600's to modern classics, all presented A Cappella.  The artists will also showcase a special tribute to our Armed Forces.  Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.  All youth under 18 are admitted free, however children under 12 must be accompanied by a ticket holding adult.For more information call Brittany at 406-676-2427.

The Kootenai Tribe, also known as the Ktunaxa Ksanka Band, welcome all nations and the general public to a "pow-wow weekend" the third weekend of July at Elmo Powwow Grounds. It is a Native American gathering featuring drumming, dancing and traditional dress.

MIRACLE OF AMERICA LIVE HISTORY DAYS
Live History Days takes place July 19th and 20th. Ice-cream treats at the Fountain; rides on two trains, and either two or three Army rigs, spinners and wood carver; the popular "Country Combo" of fiddlers, pickers, singers and accordions will entertain Saturday for your listening and dancing pleasure. See the sawmill in action; the jet trainer cockpit will be open for viewing and photo ops. Watch the tennis ball cannon, blacksmith shop, some of our whirling flywheel engines and historic movies in the meeting room, We hope to have a reader in the one-room schoolhouse. Join the fun! Sell your wares! Be a part of history! We welcome new exhibitors and volunteers! Vendors must have a direct link to things historical, i.e. soap making, broom making, pottery, beading, etc. Call to check. Demonstrators may sell their handmade wares. One of our favorite demonstrations was a broom maker who was just passing through and visiting relatives. He almost sold out. The 22nd annual Flathead Lake 3-on-3 tournament will be on Main Street in Polson on July 25, 26 and 27th with 300 teams. The MSU Scholarship Golf Scramble and BBQ will be held Saturday, July 26.  The 18 hole golf scramble starts at 12:30 and is $125 per golfer or $500 per team. Refreshments at 5:30 and dinner at 6:30PM. POLSON BAY'S WATER DAZE SWIM
Celebrate the opening of the Mission Valley's new aquatic center at the 12th Annual Polson Bay's Water Daze Swim, Saturday, August 2nd, at Boettcher Park in Polson, Montana.
This great family event has activities for everyone: A beautiful 1.3 mile open water swim race, free fun swims for kids, a huge water slide, educational activities by the Flathead Lakers and a delicious post-swim barbeque!
The swim race registration form is available for download on www.mvaquatics.org, or there is race-day registration at the park from 11AM-12(noon) with racers taking off from the KwaTaqNuk docks at 1PM.
