CHAMBER GENERAL MEETING
December 7, 2011 from 12Noon - 1PM "Business & Lunch" meeting will be held at the KwaTaqNuk Resort.  Our speakers will be Todd Crossett, City Manager and Pat DeVries, Mayor.  They will be speaking on the "State of Our City".  For more information contact the Chamber office at 883-5969.

DECEMBER 14 "Brown Bag Series" EMPLOYMENT LAW TRAINING
The monthly Brown Bag Series "Wage & Hour and Labor Law" will be held from 12 noon - 1PM at the North Lake County Public Library in Polson.  Explore the Federal laws on exempt vs non-exempt employees, overtime, break time and comp time.  That "extra mile" can cost you. This series of Employment Law Training Seminars is presented by Lake County Job Service and sponsored by Polson Chamber of Commerce and Lake County SHRM Chapter.  NO CHARGE!  Just bring your lunch and your hosts will provide coffee/water and something sweet to eat.  For more info call the Chamber Office at 883-5969.

Community Bank of Ronan and Polson is again offering the "Holiday Dollars" Program.  This offers up to $500 no interest loans to consumers for the purchase of goods and services in the Ronan, Pablo and Polson area. For more information call the Ronan office at 676-4600 or Polson office at 883-0600.

DECEMBER 2 SANDPIPER ART WALK
Fire Up and Wine Down with Holmes Fine Art on Friday, December 2 and the Sandpiper Art Gallery from 5PM to 8PM just before the Parade of Lights.  Come join the fun and look for our Raku Horse Hair Pottery firing demonstration that will yield approximately 30 unique pieces for immediate sale.

DECEMBER 2 PARADE OF LIGHTS
The Lake County Leader Presents the Parade of Lights, Friday, December 2 at 6:30 PM, (float line up at 6pm behind Linderman on 5th Avenue).  Bring the whole family downtown to enjoy this event. Stores will be open until 7 with refreshments.  The Tree lighting takes place in front of Glacier Bank Drive-up at 4th and Main immediately following the parade.  There will be old-fashioned goodie bags for the children.  For more information or to register your float call:  883-4343 Ask for Earl

Most of your favorite downtown businesses will be serving refreshments and offering specials as a "Thank You" to their valued customers all day Friday and Saturday. Most businesses will be open til 7 PM on Friday.

DECEMBER 3 FUNDRAISER FOR OWEN SCHWAB
Community fundraising event for 26 year old Owen Schwab's medical care scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd at the VFW in Polson at 5:00 pm.   Event will include Live Music, entertainment, and food.  Silent Auction items are being gathered at this time.  Benefit fund accounts have been set up at Polson area banks. Contact the number below for additional information or to make silent auction donations.

DECEMBER 5 LIBRARY OPEN HOUSE
The North Lake County Library will host an open house on December 5 from 2PM-7PM to introduce Jessica Wilson, the library's new technology trainer.  She will be introducing the FREE Computer and Technology programs. DEC 2, DEC 9, and DEC 16 SANTA IS COMING!
Santa will be making special visits to the Cove Deli and Pizza on Friday, November 18, December 2, December 9, and December 16 from 5pm to 7pm. So come on down and have your picture taken with Santa for your Christmas cards and letters to family and friends.  Bring your own camara or we will have a professional photographer to do your pictures for a small fee of CD $20, 5x7 $10 and an 8x10 for $20. The Cove is located at 11 3rd Avenue West.

DECEMBER 7 - MIRACLE OF AMERICA MUSEUM

The Miracle of America Museum on Memory Lane, Polson, is offering free public admission from 8am to 6pm on December 7th.  In memory of of those lost in the attack on Pearl Harbor, the emphasis will be on the main veteran tribute wall where rare and sobering items from the Smart family are on permanent public display. David Smart still lies entombed in the hold of the Arizona. Some of the items were sent home from previous cruises, like his Arizona hat ribbon, photos, Shellback initation document from crossing the equator, letters bearing the ships mailroom postmark, etc.  More sombering memorabilia include original telegrams and follow up letters from secretary of the navy, David's chaplain, and a buddy that had previously served with David, Purple Heart, Gold Star flag and mothers pin, numerous war bond posters, etc. make this according to our visitors " a display that you can feel.  For further info. call 406-883-6804 or 6264

DECEMBER 10 DUCKS UNLIMITED BANQUET
The Mission Valley Ducks Unlimited Banquet will be held on Saturday, December 10 at the Mission Valley Elks Lodge at 512 Main in Polson.  Dinner, raffles and auction with door prizes. Social and Games will begin at 5:30 PM.  Only 130 seats are available and prices are $45 for individual, $70 a couple, $25 for greenwings and $350 for sponsors.  Tickets are available at Gull Printing and Lake View True Value.

NOW THRU DEC 15 COMMUNITY SPIRIT BASKET FUNDRAISER
Community Bank is gearing up to sponsor the 5th annual "Community Spirit Basket" project.  Baskets will be on dislay in the designated lobby of Community Bank from November 7 until the drawing date.  Raffle tickets will be sold at the front desk of the Ronan or Polson banks for $1 each and tickets will be placed in the basket of their choice.  Ronan drawing will be Dec 8th at the Ronan Community Bank lobby during the Ronan Chamber Roundup and the Polson drawing will be at St Joseph Medical Center during SPLASH on Dec 15th.  Need not be present to win! All proceeds benefit the Ronan and Polson Food Banks.

DECEMBER 30 HANG DYNASTY CONCERT
Coming to the upstairs center of Polson VFW Post 2986 is the All-Star band "Hang Dynasty" for a dance/concert and partial benefit for the CSKT Veteran Warriors Society on December 30 at 8PM to midnight.  Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door and are available at VFW Polson, Mission Mountain Natural Foods Polson and Starlite Motel in Ronan.  This event is held in memory of Ernie "I don't play no cover tunes" Groepper.

DECEMBER 31 NEW YEARS EVE DANCE PARTY
Come ring in the New Year at the Polson Elks Club #1695 from 7:30PM to 12:30AM and dance to the "Little Big Band".  No host bar at 6:30PM and refreshments will be served.  Champagne and sparkling cider provided at midnight.  $5 per person cover charge.  Everyone is encourged to bring a potluck finger food or dessert to share!
