JANUARY - FEBRUARY County-wide Survey
Lake County, its Community Partners and Lake County Community Development need your input to help determine needs within your community.
Lake County is asking for public input for a 5 year comprehensive economic development strategy (CEDS) and for ideas of what is needed within the community. Every household is urged to participate in our online survey which will be live within the next two weeks (watch this paper for directions). The survey will coincide with the CEDS development and we are anticipating this design to bring together the public and private sectors in the creation of an economic roadmap to diversify and strengthen local economies. The public meetings will further serve to define and prioritize the needs of our communities relative to public infrastructure, transportation, broadband, affordable housing and other projects that may benefit the community's development. Possible state and federal resources and funding alternatives for projects will also be discussed. The CEDS will analyze the regional economy and serve as a guide for establishing goals and objectives, developing and implementing a plan of action, identifying investment priorities, and funding sources. The CEDS integrates a human and physical capital planning for economic development. Integrated economic development planning provides the flexibility to adapt to global economic conditions and fully utilize the region's unique advantages to maximize economic opportunity for its residents by attracting the private investment that creates jobs for the region's residents.
Meetings will be held at 6:00pm at the following places:
January:
1/26 – St. Ignatius, St. Ignatius School District Office, in the meeting room
1/31 – Polson, Rural Fire District - Fairground Station
February:
2/2 – Ferndale, Community Center
2/7 – Ronan, The community center at the fair grounds
2/9 – Arlee, Arlee High School
Every adult resident of Lake County is encouraged to attend a public meeting and give input. Watch for additional information relative to completing the on-line survey – or call Lake County Community Development to request a paper copy to complete and return.
