July 19-20, 2008,
17th Annual Live History Days
17th Annual Live History days at Miracle of America Museum. These two fun-filled days feature demonstrations by lace makers, spinners, wheat weavers, quilters, weavers, artists, blacksmiths, bead workers and others who also may let visitors try their hand at the crafts. A juggler who does balloon art will be there both days. Teachers in the 1912 one room schoolhouse have stories and activities both days for children young and old. Rides are given on many ol’ time vehicles including autos, tractors, train and military vehicles including the “tank”. Numerous old engines and tractors operate equipment including a feed grinder, rock crusher, shingle mill, can crusher, cement mixer and more. Saturday afternoon there is music from the Old Time Fiddlers and another group will play on Sunday. Plenty of food is always available. Kids can don helmets and have their picture taken in a jet or in the tank or in many of the “Kid Friendly” locations around the museum.
