We have been in existence since February of 2004, Helping Hands is an ecumenical project funded by donations, churches, fundraisers and grants.
Helping Hands has assisted in over 70,000 requests for individuals and families. Aid comes in the form of vouchers, supplies, assistance with food, bus tickets, transportation, medication, utilities, clothing, personal care items, temporary lodging, baby necessities and obtaining vital records. Each situation is considered on a case by case need, based on its own merits.
Beyond providing emergency assistance, Helping Hands goals are working to address long term needs, providing resource referrals, and guiding toward self sufficiency.
We work hand in hand with other organizations in Lake County to provide long term solution and a place to refer their clients for short term emergency assistance.
