The third Tuesday of each summer month the North Lake County Public Library will hold a fun, interactive program for teens and pre-teens called “Adulting 101.”  This program is intended to help prepare the future of our nation to go out into the world (mostly) ready to survive as a new adult.  We will cover the basics of living on your own, like how not to turn your white shirts pink, what to do if water starts shooting out of a sink, and how to keep yourself from going bankrupt your Freshman year of college.  We promise these sessions won’t be boring and we will provide lunch!  Sessions start at 1 pm in the Library meeting room.  Please let us know if you plan to come so we can be sure there is enough food! Call or RSVP on our Facebook page.

Tuesday, July 17th:  We will cover the basics of how to survive work, dating and social media including dining etiquette, eye contact and hand shaking, writing a professional email or text, how to tip, social media etiquette, personal safety and the Freshman blues.

Tuesday, August 21st:  We will cover the basics of finance including how to keep track of your bank account, the difference between credit and debit cards, and budgeting.  We will also talk about travel and invite your questions for us.
