The MVIAA has combined our annual Broom Ball WinterFest with Ronan’s annual Lights Under the Big Sky! For the first time, the MVIAA and Lights Under the Big Sky are extremely pleased to be able to partner to bring Broom Ball, a fun and easy hockey-style winter sport, to all interested festival-goers!
What: Broom Ball is very similar to hockey. All equipment is provided by the MVIAA. Games will be supervised by the MVIAA volunteers. Each game will last about 15-20 minutes (or longer, by popular demand). We encourage everyone, regardless of skill or experience, to come and give it a try!
Where: Lake County Fairground, 300 3rd Ave NW, Ronan. The Broom Ball field will be just north of the barns. Look for our signs and our Zamboni!
When: Friday and Saturday, December 13-14, and the following Friday and Saturday, December 20-21. Festival gates open at 5pm, and Broom Ball runs from 6pm to 8pm each of the four nights of the festival.
Cost: $3/person, or $15/family of six or more. This is the Festival gate fee, which goes toward keeping this amazing winter wonderland up and running for the holidays each year! The chance to play Broom Ball is included in your gate fee, and everything is provided!
We hope that by combining our Broom Ball WinterFest with this amazing local festival, we can reach out to and interact with far more of our future rink users. The need for winter activities is high in our beautiful area, but opportunities are often limited. This winter festival is the perfect way to begin to increase those opportunities. The MVIAA has always considered our strong positive relationships with local businesses and organizations to be our best asset, and partnering with Lights Under the Big Sky is a perfect example of how we can all help each other bring something wholesome, fun, and family-friendly to the area.
We’d like to thank our Broom Ball volunteers for making this event possible:
*Bret Richardson
*David McDaniel
*Steve and Mike Lozar
*Chuck Wall
*Linda Greenwood
*Katie Walter
We hope to see many smiling faces, engaging in a friendly, laid-back game! Bring your family and enjoy the lights and activities!
