I hope you have this marked on your calendar to stop by to enjoy our fourth annual summer event. On the Nature Trail there will be over 15 vendors selling their handcrafted items and artwork. Plus we have Don Safford from Hot Springs here to demonstrate flintknapping and a newcomer this year, Barnes, who will demonstrate buckskin tanning. Our very own Jan Kauffman will be in the Jocko Cabin demonstrating how she does her beautiful pine needle basket weaving.
The tasty treats of “Home on the Range Pies and Baked Goods” will be set up across from the museum entry.
AND it is a FREE day to tour the museum. If you missed Sheron Green’s book reading and signing last Saturday, you’re in luck … she’ll be in the gift shop by the fireplace to visit with you and sign her book on Saturday.
Bring your friends, bring your family … come spend a few leisurely hours enjoying summer in the Mission Valley. If you’re parched, be sure to stop by the Great Gray Gift Shop next door for a cool coffee drink or one of their delicious huckleberry shakes (I can personally vouch for the deliciousness) or drop by Ninepipes Lodge for a tall, cool beverage of your choice. And since it’s supposed to be a warm day, perhaps get a bite to each so you won’t have to cook when you get home!
